1. Starting from Real Needs: Addressing the Overlooked Reading Challenges of Millions

The reading challenges faced by people with visual impairments have long remained outside public attention.

During his studies at Chongqing University, Angelo Li (Li Cheng) met a blind couple through an exchange activity and experienced firsthand the difficulties they faced in accessing books.

A regular book, after being converted into Braille, can become three or four thick volumes, costing several hundred RMB. It is not only difficult to carry but also limited in available content.

Audiobooks can satisfy basic information access needs, but they cannot fully replace tactile reading.

For years, Braille display devices in China have heavily depended on imported technologies, with prices often reaching tens of thousands of RMB, making them difficult for ordinary families to afford. Meanwhile, some domestic alternatives have faced challenges such as insufficient tactile feedback and unstable performance.

These combined barriers have made it difficult to meet the deep reading needs of visually impaired users.

This experience inspired Angelo Li (Li Cheng) to make a decision:

Build a team and develop truly domestically developed, affordable, and high-quality Braille displays to address the accessibility gap in reading through technology.

2. Breaking Through with Core Technology: Reducing Costs While Improving Experience

The Braille hardware industry has long faced challenges including dependence on imported core components and high manufacturing costs.

After three years of technological development and hundreds of design iterations, Wiltrue has achieved full-chain independent research and development, covering hardware structures, driving systems, and software algorithms.

The company has developed multiple core patents and software copyrights, establishing an independent intellectual property system.

Born in 2002, Angelo Li (Li Cheng) is a graduate student at Chongqing University and the founder of Wiltrue.

He has received multiple national and provincial innovation awards.
